Bot traffic

The Bots Traffic reports — all bots, crawled paths, verified, SEO, AI, bad, and suspicious.

The Bots Traffic menu holds several reports, each one a view of the bot side of your traffic. They all use the shared report layout described in Traffic reports — a chart, a table, and a query builder — so only the filter applied to each one is different.

#How Honeylog classifies a request

Every request is given a state that decides which report it appears in:

  • Human — not a bot. These show up under Human Visitors, not here.
  • Suspicious — a bot that is not yet trusted, or behaviour that looks bot-like.
  • Verified — a known, legitimate bot (such as an SEO or AI crawler).
  • Malicious — a confirmed bad bot, such as a scraper or attacker.

#The reports

  • All Bots Traffic — every bot request, broken down by bot name. The widest view of bot activity.
  • Crawled Paths — bot traffic grouped by path, so you can see which pages bots request most.
  • Verified Bots — only bots Honeylog has confirmed as legitimate.
  • SEO Bots — the verified search-engine crawlers, such as Googlebot and Bingbot.
  • AI Bots — the verified AI crawlers, such as ChatGPT and ClaudeBot.
  • Bad Bots — only the bots marked malicious.
  • Suspicious Bots — bots flagged as suspicious but not confirmed malicious.

#Working with a report

Because each report uses the shared layout, you can:

  1. Switch the chart metric (total requests, allowed requests, average response time, average bytes sent).
  2. Group the table by bot name, path, or another dimension.
  3. Open Filters to add precise conditions.
  4. Export the table to CSV.

To follow a single bot over time instead of an aggregate, use Visibility Radar.
